Qatar Airways on Monday resumed flights to Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a daily service.
QR1164 from Hamad International Airport to King Khalid International Airport took off in Doha at 1-45pm local time and landed safely at its destination at 3-10pm. The flight was operated by Qatar Airways’ Airbus A350-1000.
Qatar Airways will resume flights to Jeddah on Thursday (QR1188 departing Doha at 6-50pm) and to Dammam on Saturday (QR 1150 departing Doha at 5-10pm).
The moves came after Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Egypt signed a reconciliation agreement with Qatar during the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit in the Saudi city of al-Ula.
Saudi Arabia said that it agreed to reopen airspace and land and sea border to Qatar, as part ofthe agreement to lift the blockade imposed on Qatar since 2017.
