Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has introduced a new visa framework to simplify entry procedures, offering four tourist visa categories:
- Category 1 – Citizens of approved countries with high safety, strong passports, and solid economies; no extra requirements, with 6 visa options (single or multiple entry, 1–12 months).
- Category 2 – GCC citizens/residents, and holders of US, UK, or Schengen visas with approved professions.
- Category 3 – (Coming soon) For all other nationalities with proof of financial solvency (e.g., bank statement).
- Category 4 – For visitors attending local/international events, with stay based on event duration.
For Tourist Visa Categories 1 and 2, Kuwait offers a flexible range of entry and stay options to suit different travel needs:
- Single-Entry Tourist Visas:
- 1-month visa – Valid for 30 days; you must enter and complete your stay within this period.
- 2-month visa – Still has a 30-day validity period, but allows a 60-day stay once you enter.
- 3-month visa – Also valid for 30 days from issuance, but grants a 90-day stay once inside Kuwait.
- Key point: Single-entry visas mean you can only enter Kuwait once; if you leave, the visa becomes void.
2. Multiple-Entry Tourist Visas:
- 3-month visa – Valid for 90 days, with up to 30 days per visit; you can leave and re-enter multiple times during the validity period.
- 6-month visa – Valid for 180 days, with up to 30 days per entry.
- 1-year visa – Valid for 360 days, again with 30 days per entry.
- Key point: Multiple-entry visas are ideal for frequent visitors, but each stay is capped at 30 days, so long-term continuous stays aren’t allowed under this type.
These options give travelers flexibility—single-entry for one extended trip, and multiple-entry for repeated short visits over several months—while also allowing Kuwait to maintain control over visitor duration and compliance.
